You might be wondering, "Why not just use Kickstarter or Indiegogo?" According to one of the most talked about campaign promoters, "projects succeed because of the outreach by the creators themselves to their communities, and the creative rewards that they offer. Your funding will come from your network of friends, family, and community."

Well, if I already have a well-developed network of supporters, why should I give the confidential information of my contacts over to a profit making entity that also garners a commission from the contributions while receiving free promotional marketing?

Moreover, those payment platforms are not controlled by a nonprofit 501(c)(3) exempt organization and it can take from 45-60 days to receive the funds less their share.

The goal is to use the funds from $5 funders to make clips, teasers and trailers with motion or animated graphics that are much better than this:

      Synopsis:

Objective-S/he℠ is a nexus of the objective-c computer science programming language training and gender-neutral communication.  Language matters and negative comments do not motivate.

Objective-S/he℠ documentary is part of a new transmedia campaign to generate awareness of how subtle discrimination in the form of "name-calling" is impacting women who aspire to qualify for employment in nontraditional occupations and exposes specific barriers to equitable participation.

      Rationale:

Everyday, in the course of normal corporate advertising and personal communications, people are reminded which groups are "underrepresented," "lacking," or "falling behind." New entrants to the technical career field are subjected to reminders of performance problems or perceived gaps between the genders.  Public perception, driven by mainstream media, is that technology is a "male dominated" industry or career field.

Motivated by the inequities they see around them and driven by the desire to "combat them," academicians use crude racial and gender substitutes of underrepresented minority (URM) and non-URM.

From an objective standpoint, it is basically harmful name-calling, a form of subtle discrimination, now the principal scaffolding for segregation in the United States of America.

Female persons are 50.8% of USA population (2012 Census). So, why is society still referring to women as a minority group?
