      AIA SF Health and Science Committee Presents: Displacement Ventilation by Mazzetti (1.5 HSWs) (Free)

      Arash Guity from Mazzetti will discuss the current use of displacement ventilation ducted air introduced at or near the floor level in med. / surg. patient bedrooms as well as possibilities for and examples of use in other areas of Health and Science buildings in order to:

      1. reduce contaminants and hospital acquired infections

      2. save energy and operational costs

      3. improve perceived comfort levels of occupants

      Other ceiling applications of DV in California Healthcare projects include; conference rooms, ICU patient rooms, corridors, nurse stations.

       

      Mr. Guity will also discuss design considerations that architects, planners, vendors,  facilities, and contractors need to plan for.

       

      Arash is the Mazzetti Project Manager for the Healthcare Ventilation Research Collaborative (HVRC), a multi-disciplinary group studying alternative ventilation strategies for healthcare facilities.
