      The event will kick off with a pitch by a startup founder Founder Mary Jean Koontz, Founder, STEMKids.jobs by Kids for Kids.  Then hear feedback from a a stellar panel including Allan Young, Founder of Runway Incubator, Shauntel Poulson, Associate Partner at New Schools Venture Fund, Peter Imburg, Investor and Founder of Elfster.com, and Mike Barr, Financial Consultant and former CFO of Aspire Schools.  Get answers to questions like:

      • What are the success factors for developing and financing a rapid growth company?
      • Can my life experience help me in the intense competition for funding?
      • How do I find the right investors for my company?

      Mary Jean's company develops software and programs to teach STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and entrepreneurial skills to kids. The company evolved from Mary Jean’s interest in games and a desire that her son develop skills in STEM and entrepreneurship.

      • Allan Young, raised in San Francisco Chinatown who is a serial entrepreneur, investor, Hedge Fund Manager, Harvard Fellow is making a rare public appearance.  Runway Incubator is the largest incubator in San Francisco. CallSockit provides superior Call Center services and is located in the Tribune Building in Oakland.
      • Shauntel Poulson, an African American engineer with a passion for technology in education is leading change as an investor.  She was with Proctor and Gamble as an engineer in Product Development.  She completed an MBA in Business and MA in Education at Stanford when she decided technology and education was the direction she would take. 
      • Peter Imburg, who self-funded his company Elfster.com is now investing.  Peter started Elfster.com in 2004 and over the years has turned a seasonal product to make Secret Santa easier for family and friends into a market leader in gifting.  He never had to take money from an investor but now is in a position to be an investor.   
      • Mike Barr, a former CFO in high tech is a financial expert in educational non-profits as both interim Executive and consulting. In 2004. As CFO of Aspire Public s Schools, Mike grew the chaTter school network from 10 to 30 schools serving nearly 10,000 students.

      6:50 – 7:00      Summary of discussion and announcement of the Alliance Capital Connections Conference in October 2013 and Call for Entrepreneurs
