Do It Live! Productions is unleashing  the Bay Area Premier of Carlos Murillo’s charismatic romantic thriller Dark Play or Stories for Boys, directed by Logan Ellis.  The second show of their second season, and their first Bay Area Premier, Dark Play is coming to the Exit Theatre, opening June 20th.

Who would you like to be today? Nick Suttcliffe has landed his first girlfriend, but after the two seal the deal, he finds that he’d better explain the bevy of stab wounds that adorn his abdomen. Dark Play tells the story of Nick’s very first lover, the power a teenager can take from the internet, and the false selves Nick’s creates in a quest to be free of his own body.

Following last Fall's Phaedra's Love, Do It Live is coming back with a story of identity crisis, throbbing young love and violent manipulation. Dark Play exposes San Franciscan audiences to a story of unreconciled identity and the ugly side of sexual fixation.

SF’s ambitious new theater company, Do It Live, is carving their way through their second season. Last fall, Do It Live’s Phaedra’s Love scandalized audiences and critics alike, with the Examiner saying “this reviewer was shaken seriously enough to consider walking out early in the performance. But the decision to stick around was well rewarded.”  SF Weekly called Phaedra “Ghastly fun to watch” and the Examiner named it among their “Ten Best Plays of 2012.” With Dark Play be sure to expect  These scrappy insurrectionists are delivering another darkly comic pile-driver in the wrestling arena of underground theatre.
