      Innovate SF: Creating a Culture that Fosters Innovation

      Let’s face it – innovation does not only apply to Apple.  Or at least, it should not.  In fact, in order to be competitive nowadays, companies must innovate – from the fledgling startup to the 30 year old family-owned business.  So how does one define Innovation?  And how do company leaders encourage innovative thinking throughout their organization?  Join us for an evening of intimate conversation with a tech startup founder, a company culture expert, a VC turned gaming executive and a leader of a non-profit organization, where we will explore their strategies and tactics on creating culture that fosters innovation.

      Our speakers are:

      Jareau Wade: Co-founder and Director Growth at Balanced, a payments platform for online marketplaces. Previously, he was the 1st employee and head of data acquisition at, which is now part of eBay. Jareau started his career as a teaching fellow at the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology in Accra, Ghana. Jareau studied electrical engineering and entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania and is originally from Tucson, Arizona.

      Jesse Janosov: Most recently, Jesse was VP of Games at Zynga in charge of the social casino division, where he oversaw development and operation of all Zynga's non-real money casino offerings.  Prior to that, Jesse has held several executive positions in the games industry, and been a senior associate with Lightspeed Venture Partners.  Jesse holds a MBA from Harvard University and degrees in Economics and Computer Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

      Nga Chiem: Nga Chiem is Chief Strategy Officer/Vice President at, the nation’s leading microsavings provider. She oversees the organization’s product and public policy divisions, as well as leads the EARN Research Institute (ERI). Nga is responsible for scaling EARN’s impact and driving technical innovation through strategic initiatives across multiple industries including finance, technology, and gaming. Nga received her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and History from Brown University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

      Dave Kashen: Dave is a Leadership Coach and Culture Development Consultant for Unleashed, the premier leadership development firm for startups. He has spent the last five years partnering with CEOs and executive teams of the most promising, fast-growing, venture-funded technology startups to help them build successful, values-driven companies with strong, aligned cultures that bring out the best in their people. Prior to founding Unleashed, Dave co-founded Wellsphere, a fast-growing online health company (acquired by The HealthCentral Network), worked as an investment associate for SPO Partners, and an investment banker for Goldman Sachs. Dave earned his MBA from Stanford University. Dave has worked with a large number of rapidly scaling startups including Facebook, Zynga, Indiegogo, Kiva, Klout, Flixster, Rypple, Wikia, CrowdFlower, Pocket Gems, and many others, and has led training programs for True Ventures and First Round Capital. He's a contributor to FastCompanyGigaOm and writes the awesome culture blog
