      Lunch with Andrea Ponsi

      Join us for a lecture with Italian architect Andrea Ponsi, designer of House on the Bay, one of the homes on this year's Marin Living: Home Tours. Ponsi will discuss his career and work, which includes architecture and city planning, design, painting and writing, and has been published in international magazines (Domus, Interni, Wallpaper) and the subject of solo and group shows (Museo della Triennale in Milan; Venice Biennale). In 2000 he won the international competition for the design of the Palos Verdes Art Center in Los Angeles.

      After completing an architecture degrees from the University of Florence, he received the Architectural Association Graduate Diploma in London and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. From 1978 to 1988 he lived and worked in San Francisco, focusing on environmental sustainability.

      He has taught in several universities including the University of California-Berkeley, Syracuse University, University of Toronto and the Institut Technion in Haifa, Israel.

      Monographs on his work include “ Elementary Design” (1994), “ The Copper House” (2000) ,“Thinking Lines” (2002). His drawings, watercolors and essays on the perception and representation of urban space are brought together in the books “Florence-Changing Viewpoints” and “Florence-a map of perceptions” (2010).
