      EVENT DETAILS
Michael Cooper: A Sculptural Odyssey, 1968-2011

The Museum of Craft and Design presents its first traveling exhibition, "Michael Cooper: A Sculptural Odyssey, 1968–2011," a striking selection of more than 23 exquisitely crafted and thought-provoking pieces representing more than four decades of the Bay Area artist's work. Cooper is best known for seductively complex and remarkably mobile metal and wood works that are a true testament to both form and function. With pieces ranging from pistol-packing tricycles to fantastical furniture and highly stylized motorcycles, this awe-inspiring collection is not to be missed.

This exhibition is part of the museum's grand reopening in its new facility, which expands the institution’s exhibition space by nearly 50 percent and features the museum’s first dedicated educational workshop and programming space. A non-collecting institution, the Museum of Craft and Design is one of North America’s few institutions dedicated to contemporary practices in craft and design.
