San Francisco Coastal Fishing/Foraging Tour With Kirk Lombard

Get fishy with former PSMFC fisheries observer, raconteur, tubist, monkeyface eel champion, blogger and street performer Kirk Lombard on an inter-tidal, low tide walking tour along San Francisco's bayfront shoreline. Learn the basics of how to "poke pole" for the flavorful monkeyface eel, how to catch rock crabs and throw a "Hawaiian casting net." Discover the best local mussel beds, and how to be sure you aren't eating risky ones! Also: where to find stands of edible sea weeds, the advantages of eating local forage fishes and what's in season when. This award winning walking tour was voted "Best Walking Tour In San Francisco" in 2011. It has been featured in articles in the NY Times, SF Chronicle, SF Bay Guardian, Marin Independent Journal, East Bay Express and many others. Kirk has appeared on NPR, Travel Channel, Food Network, Animal Planet, Oprah Network and Sportsman Network.
