Start Date: 8/28/2013 Start Time: 3:30 PM
End Date: 8/28/2013 End Time: 5:30 PM

UC Hastings - Mary Kay Kane Hall
      Room: ARC

UCSF professor and UC Hastings graduate (MSL '13) Dr. Robert Lustig will discuss the science and policy that has led to the pandemic of chronic disease over the last 30 years. In the late 1970s the government mandated that we limit fat in our food, and the food industry responded by using more sugar. Dr. Lustig argues that the result has been a perfect storm, disastrously altering our biochemistry and driving our eating habits out of our control.

Dr. Lustig's lecture will be followed by a signing of his new book Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity, and Disease.

Please be advised that C-SPAN will be filming this lecture, including any audience questions or comments.

Please RSVP for this event here by 5pm on August 23rd.
