      MEZCLA PRODUCTIONS & EL RIO PRESENTS: 4th Anuual Brazilian Day Celebration is here! Featuring "Sambada", "Namorados Da Lua" & "Sang Matiz". With Special Guests: 2019 Samba Queen Ebunny & 2018 Samba Queen Tiombe and more TBA... This is a non-profit cultural event that brings people from Brasil, Latinos & Americans together for a day of celebration of Brazilian & Afro-Latin Cultures. All proceeds will go to the Musicians/Dancers and "Coletivo Desbordar" (a Group of Powerful women like lawers, advocates, social workers, executives and activists representing and advocating for human rights, equality & justice). MC'd by Fabiana Lopez. The event will provide Caipirinhas (Brazilian Cocktail) for sale and Salgados/Brigadeiros (Brazilian Appetizers) for a suggested donation. Viva a Musica! More about the Performance: SAMBADA Brazilian natives Papiba Godinho and Dandha da Hora bring their profound knowledge and respect for the roots of Afro-Brazilian song and dance, and the entire band has developed a type of samba-reggae-funk with a universal appeal. SambaDá musically unites the Americas and Africa, drawing from percussion based styles of South and Central America and Senegal, and blends it with that good old funk, rock and reggae backbeat so familiar to crowds of North America. For over 18 years, SambaDá has been mixing contemporary sounds with the roots of Brazilian culture. NAMORADOS DA LUA Namorados Da Lua - translated from Portuguese as "Moon Lovers" - is the newest Brazilian band to hit the Bay Area. The band unites Brazilian(South American), North American, European an African musicians with a common love of creating union and positive music with a message.NDL showcases a beautiful blend of diverse styles, incorporation musical influences from reggae, jazz, pop, rock and funk as well as Brazilian samba, forró, and Axe carnival music.Their music brings unstoppable driving rhythms, fiery lyrical grooves, harmonious instrumentation and original funk that makes them irresistibly danceable for any audience. SANG MATIZ Sang Matizhas been performing a collection of original and cover songs for 8 years, fusing energetic World and Afro-Latin and Brazilian rhythms with contemporary rhythms such as Pop, Jazz, and Funk. They've perfected a unique combination of styles that is best described as catchy, syncopated melodies with flamenco-styled finger picking. Thanks to a grant awarded by The California Arts Council Endowment for the Arts andThe San Francisco Arts Commission for Cultural Equity, they released the album,“Ship It!" and are currently in production of their second album. In August 2015, they were chosen and honored to open for the legendary Cuban band Buena Vista Social Club Orchestra for their final “Adios Tour," followed by a 2016 invitation to share a stage with the eclectic and distinguished LA-based band, Ozomatli. Throughout the years, they’ve also collaborated with various renowned Bay Area musicians such as: Mario Alberto Silva(Master Trumpeter), Miguelito Martinez(Master Flutist/Composer), andGrammy Award-winner Braulio Barrera(Pacific Mambo Orchestra), among many other national and global acts asJorge Santana(Malo) and Pete Escovedo.
