      Celebration of Self-Advocacy

      Bay Area People First Presents the 2019 Celebration of Self-Advocacy It’s an evening for self-advocates, by self-advocates, celebrating leadership and advocacy with food, music, awards, dancing and togetherness.  We recognize self-advocates who speak up to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The goal of the event is to promote and support self-advocacy in the region. Do you know a self-advocate in your community that deserves to be recognized? We would love to hear from you. NOMINATE THAT PERSON Entertainment will be provided by The Dream Achievers and you can visit their Facebook page here. Catering will be provided by EVNTWRKS and you can visit their website here. Dinner will be an Italian theme with Lasagna, Caesar Salad, and Garlic Bread. We look forward to seeing you there! FAQs How much is it to attend and why does it say Free? It's $5 for Self-Advocates and $20 for Others. To avoid paying the online fees, select the Mail-in Payment option. What happens after I select Mail-In Payment? You will receive an email from the SCDD office with the total cost for the tickets. You then have the option of paying at the door or mailing in the payment. Your tickets will be held at the registration table. If you request that the tickets be mailed to you, you will receive them between 7-10 business days. Tickets will not be mailed within 2 weeks of the event. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking is FREE at Ed Roberts Campus during the event. If taking BART, please exit at ASHBY Station.  How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Email Call (510) 286-0439 Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No printed ticket needed. Just make sure to register online so you are counted.
