Complicated Grief (Level 2) Training: A Workshop for Professionals Working with the Bereaved

We are proud to offer a two-day workshop with Columbia University’s Dr. Katherine Shear, founder of The Center for Complicated Grief. The workshop will take place Friday - Saturday, November 22 - 23, from 9am - 5pm. The goal of this workshop is to prepare therapists to use Complicated Grief Treatment (CGT). We discuss how CGT works and why it’s so successful. CGT uses seven core themes: 1) Getting to know grief, 2) Managing painful emotions, 3) Thinking about the future, 4) Strengthening relationships, 5) Telling the story of the death, 6) Living with reminders and 7) Connecting with memories. We discuss these themes and ways we work with them. The workshop is interactive with experiential self-reflection exercises and opportunities to practice procedures. We provide step-by-step instructions for the 16-session model.   This workshop is aimed at licensed mental health professionals who are working with those who are grieving. LEVEL ONE TRAINING OR ITS EQUIVALENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS WORKSHOP.  For questions or more information, please call Susan at 650.532.2396. Attendees must purchase Dr. Shear's manual, available at the link below, prior to the workshop. Use the code mission19 to receive a 40% discount, this discount will NOT be available after the workshop. https://complicatedgrief.columbia.edu/professionals/manual-tools/
