Farming Hope Fundraiser: October Guest Chef Dinner

Your ticket includes: A seasonal four course meal (Sample menu below) Guided conversation about food justice Opportunity to meet Farming Hope Staff and Apprentices Join the Farming Hope squad to feast on a delicious fall harvest! This dinner is part of our series of monthly fundraiser dinners at Manny's in San Francisco. We feature guest chefs, community discussion, and the chance to break bread with people from all walks of life in our city. Each month, these fundraisers allow us to raise money to fulfill our unique mission - paying direct wages to formerly incarcerated and homeless folks who work in our transitional employment program. This October 3, we'll join a communal table to eat together and hear the story of Farming Hope.  Farming Hope serves food and runs our culinary job training program at Manny's, a civic gathering space in San Francisco's Mission District. Our guest chef dinners serve two goals: get people outside of their social bubble to talk about the issues of the day; and raise funds to support our programming and number of trained apprentices. To support our venue host, we ask guests to purchase wine and beer for the evening at the bar from Manny's.  The chef of the evening will be Farming Hope's own Larry Feygin, our brand new Culinary Director in his debut dinner.  Join us to eat a feast to celebrate the beautiful Fall harvest! - Sample 4 Course Dinner Menu - Will Change Upon Confirmation of Guest Chef-  1st Course Melon salad Melon, cucumber, mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil 2nd Course Corn chowder Coconut milk, baby potatoes, crispy mushrooms 3rd Course Whole Roasted Bronzino Served with a summer vegetable succotash Dessert Peach Cobbler Served warm with vanilla whipped cream *We hope you understand the dinner is painstakingly prepared and cooked by our staff as a set menu. If you have allergies or restrictions to this particular menu, it is best to consider attending another Guest Chef Dinner with a different menu. It's like going to a friend's house for dinner - we serve what we have and don't have a huge pantry of alternatives! Overtime, we have a menu for everyone, so you won't miss out. If you absolutely require dietary accomodations for this event, be sure to e-mail team@farminghope.org prior to the event to let us know. It is unlikely we can make accomodations the night of the event.* FAQs What is the dress code for community pop up diners?  Come as you are! No dress code, we are a casual bunch. I want to join the conversation and try the food, but can't afford a ticket right now. Is it possible to get a ticket still?  Of course! We have free tickets available for community guests, please reach out to Farming Hope staff in person or email team@farminghope.org to inquire about community tickets.  What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Manny's is located at 3092 16th Street. Parking is difficult, particularly at night. We highly recommend taking BART if possible, as the 16th St. Mission Station is one block from Manny's. There is also a bus stop and Ford Go Bikes stand right outside Manny's front door. There is a city-operated parking garage nearby at 16th and Hoff St., entrance on Hoff St.  Are children welcome? Yes! But please note - everyone that attends our dinners is required to have a ticket.  How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please email team@farminghope.org. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner, but please understand our time is limited in responding promptly since operating a restaurant and job-training nonprofit seven days a week. What's the refund policy? No refunds, a donation never hurt anyone (and it has helped).   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.   Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes. Do I have to be there at 6:30 pm sharp or can I come in whenever? I really hate commitment and being on time. Dinner is served in courses, so if you're late, you'll miss some of the courses - we recommend coming early and having fun with us together throghout the evening.
