      Tuesday, October 22, 2019 | 5:30-7:30 p.m. 2121 Berkeley Way, Berkeley  |  FREE  Berkeley Way West, Colloquium Rooms (1st floor) Food will be provided. The Center of Excellence in Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health and the Bixby Center for Population Health & Sustainability at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health present a screening of the documentary film Period. End of Sentence. Winner of Best Documentary Short Academy Award and and directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi, this film documents the story of a rural village in India, where a group of women band together to install and operate a sanitary pad-making machine, combating the crushing stigma of menstruation, improving accessibility of sanitary products, and discovering newfound independence and hope for a better future.   After  the  film,  a panel of MCAH researchers and experts will discuss themes related to reproductive rights, adolescent health, and economic empowerment, globally and domestically.      View the Trailer:     Panelists:     Julianna Deardorff, PhD Professor, UC Berkeley Maternal and Child Health Program Director, Center of Excellence in Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, UC Berkeley School of Public Health    Ndola Prata MD, MSc Professor, UC Berkeley Maternal and Child Health Program Director, Bixby Center for Population, Health & Sustainability Dilys Walker, MD Professor, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, UC San Francisco
