      Free PJMan & The StarGazers Graduate Kids Project Planning Session _ Second Saturday(s)

      This is an ongoing class that meets every 2nd and 3rd Saturday, at the MADE (Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment - 3400 Broadway in Oakland (cross street Piedmont) from 8am - 2pm.  From time to time, we will bring in speakers so see the Speaker Series schedule for deviations to the normal schedule listed below. All kids are welcome to come and participate; however project management roles are reserved for graduates first.  Our kids are friendly and welcoming so there have been no issues regarding roles; they are all good roles and everyone is learning about all the roles.   We're learning many skills in a fun and effective way. Introduction to Project Management Classes for kids are offered 3 times per year. Check  Eventbrite (PJMan & The StarGazers)  and/or for next class.PJMan & The StarGazers Graduate Kids will continue Working on Projects (order of projects working on may change); 8 - 8:50 am      Asante Africa Crowdfund Execution, Monitoring and Control  ( As we receive hands-on experience by working on a real project and using project management, leadership, business, marketing, fundraising skills and tools, we're learning more about the world around us and other cultures while at the same time helping others by raising money  to provide uniforms, Electronic Tablets, eBooks and desk for schools in Kenya and Tanzania Africa.  We are using the Go Fund Me platform to bring more awareness to Asante Africa Foundation and the work they are doing.  See our Go Fund Me page to follow our efforts. (; See below for information about Speaker's Series. 8:50 - 9:10 am  Break:  Pastries, fruit, & water/juice Sponsored by Semi-Freddis and The MADE 9:10 - 10am     Remember Them Project Plan Development and Framing _For this project, the kids are creating websites, video     games, apps, videos and stories for  the 25 humanitarians represented in Mario Chiodo's Remember Them Monuments located in Oakland on 19th Street between MKL & Telegraph (Larger Monument) and Oakland Kaiser Permanente on Broadway outside of parking lot. ( 10 - 11:30 am  Scratch Video Game Programming taught by the MADE's womderful staff 11:30 - 12pm   Play in Museum / Light Snack  Sponsored by Semi-Freddis and The MADE 12 - 2 pm        Continue Working on projects For more information:  See bottom of Home Page for Calendar We've been partnering with The MADE (Museum of Art & Digital Entertainment) since September 24, 2016.  Our first Introduction to Project Management class for kids was December 16, 2016 at the MADE.   The MADE has an incredible staff who have been teaching Scratch Video Game programming classes to kids for free since 2012.  They're adding new classes.  Check the calendar under events for more information: Speaker Series Schedule -We're inviting people from every walk of life who use project management skills and tools (everyone) to speak to our kids about their projects. See separate Everbrite registrations for each the Speaker Series class Saturday, June 16, 2018  Takeo Kimura from Intel will talk to the kids about his project as a project manager on the Self Driving Car.  He will also speak about one of the project management areas (Probably Risk) for this project.  This session will be from 8am to 10am at the MADE (Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment). Previous Speakers: Saturday, December 16, 2017  Erna Grasz, Founder/Director of Asante Africa:  Erna was our first speaker.  She previously was an engineer at Lawrence Livermore Labs and an executive for a robotics company in Silicon Valley.  Her organizations, Asante Africe Foundation will be the first recipient of our first project - a Go Fund Me project to raise money to build schools in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, Africa.  To learn more about the Go Fund me project: Saturday, January 13, 2018   Mario Chiodo, CEO Chiodo Art Development:  Native artist, Mario Chiodo is the artist of the Remember Them Monument in Oakland, CA.  After celebrating our 1 year anniversary at the monument, Mario came in and spoke to the kids about the Remember Them Monument and other projects he has worked on as well as some of his current projects.
