This event has been marked mature level 1 due to the following, "queer".
Given the amount of violence LGBTQI people face, clinicians, researchers and educators need to address our own cultural competency, awareness and humility when it comes to working with these populations. It is our ethical responsibility to do so. In this seminar, we will look at terminology related to LGBTQI communities. We will talk about ethics, queer cultural awareness, discrimination issues, mental health and other cultural statistics. We will look at social justice, therapy and education. You will have the opportunity to address any questions in your work as it might relate to LGBTQI people.
